In Malaysia, 54 out of 84 students do not proceed to postsecondary education. The main reasons have been financial problem and lack of interest​. While the government has provided a lot of opportunities, scholarships and TVET programmes, most of the students are still unable to access to them. Beyond School Gates, or BSG, aims to tackle this problem. We inspire to become the bridge to connect students with the scholarships and tertiary education opportunities through nationwide seminars and an online portal accessible to everyone.

1 in every 6 children in Malaysia does not proceed to Form 4, mostly due to the lack of interest. The BCG Workshop aims to expose students, particularly Form 4 and Form 5 students, with opportunities beyond schools in terms of career choices. The workshop will also focus on non-traditional career choices and pathways, scholarships and financial assistance available, as well as the interview techniques to equip them with essential tools for life beyond school gates, particularly for students in rural areas as they have less exposure to these opportunities.

OUR METHODS:

BSG SEMINAR

BSG Seminar is a scholarship and interview workshop conducted for students, specifically Form 4 and Form 5 students. The seminar covers several aspects:
1. Ada apa dengan SPM (what is the big deal about SPM?)
2. Course search (talent vs. interest) through a psychology test
3. Pathways after SPM
4. Scholarships and financial assistance available
5. Personal statement and resume/CV writing
​6. Mock interviews
BSG ONLINE PORTAL

A one-stop portal for students to search for scholarships and tertiary education opportunities available. The portal will cover all the pathways after SPM. the portal is expected to be launched in 2018
